Take This Friends Quiz And We’ll Reveal If You’re Monica Or Rachel

We can't imagine that there is anyone across the world that hasn't heard of Friends, the sitcom that managed to become one of the most famous television shows of all time. It has almost managed to create its own form of popular culture, with people visiting the same places in New York City that were filmed for the show to act out their own version of events! Due to this popularity, we thought it was about time that somebody put together a quiz that took a look at how much people really know about the show!

What we've done is pull together some questions about the show, questions that span the whole series, testing how much people really do and do not know about what happened in the show. Once everyone has answered the questions, we will be able to use that information to tell people whether or not they're more of a Rachel or a Monica!

So, we think it's about time that we got started, gave people a chance to flex their Friends muscles and find out which of the female characters they're truly like, whether they like the answer that they're given or not!

Question 1

What Is Joey's Ethnic Origin?

One of the things that we liked about Friends was the fact that the writers slowly started to add more and more history to the characters, including backstory that a lot of other sitcoms may not have bothered to put in. This included the families that they all came from and how these had shaped who they were as people. We will always love the way that Joey's love of food and obsession with loyalty came from his old family life!

Question 2

What Is Chandler's Last Name?

We're not going to say that a lot of the things that happened to Chandler weren't funny, but we did often feel sorry for the guy! We think the writers did want us to like him as a person, to essentially feel sorry for him, but we're not sure this always came across when it looked like they were having so much fun tormenting his character. One of the things that was constantly made fun of was his unusual name last name.

Question 3

Which Friend Lived On The Street During Their Youth?

Yet another little detail that was added into the backstory of one of the characters that genuinely affected the relationships of the group and the stories that the writers were able to create. This sort of unstable youth is going to affect that way that someone lives as an adult, and while so many of the adults we know have lived a standard youth, the ones that struggled through abnormal issues that we can never understand are going to seem a little different to us!

Question 4

What Is Janice's Catchphrase?

If we're being honest, we never understood why this woman was made fun of so much, as she seemed so lovely! We can tell that she was obviously annoying, and we're saying we would want her in our lives, but the Friends made out like she was one of the most unpleasant people they've ever met! We're not so sure why any of them felt that she was any more annoying than Ross is on so many different occasions!

Question 5

What Is Joey's Last Name?

It's amazing to think that Friends became so famous that people with the same name will be able to go about their life without someone commenting on it! We will all remember the names of the Friends for the rest of our lives, but that doesn't mean we'll always remember which face goes with which name! So, do people think that they can guess the name that goes with this face? Does everybody remember Joey's last name? Well, tell us!

Question 6

What Is Ross And Monica's Last Name?

Deciding to have two of the main characters be siblings was an interesting choice on the part of the writers, as it allowed them to write in a history that the other Friends couldn't possibly have had between them. That being said, we don't actually know too many siblings that are best friends now that they're adults, but we're sure that they must exist out there somewhere! What does everyone else think? Did they think that this brother and sister combination worked?

Question 7

What Soap Opera Does Joey Appear In?

Choosing to have one of the Friends play an actor was a stroke of genius, as it means that the person playing the character actually has some knowledge of what it feels like to be an out of work actor, somebody that is struggling to get by. This is even more interesting when the audience finds out that the actor playing Joey was really struggling before he won the chance to star in the most popular sitcom of all time.

Question 8

Who Introduced Phoebe And Mike To Each Other?

We think that anyone who wanted Phoebe to end up with Mike over David clearly wasn't a real fan of the show in our opinion! Those two were supposed to be together from the very beginning, and yet she ended up picking the guy who didn't turn up until almost right at the end. We would like to think that they're living out a nice life right now, but whatever happened to David?! That guy got cast aside by his love.

Question 9

What Is Rachel's Last Name?

Anyone that has just watched a show before being asked what the full name of every single character is will know that there is something about it that proves to be more difficult than people would think! We imagine it has something to do with the fact that human beings don't often refer to each other by their full names, meaning that there would be no reason a sitcom about normal people would see that happen much either! That's our theory anyway...

Question 10

What Was The Name Of The Neighbor That Lived Beneath Monica's Apartment?

Is there anybody else who used to watch Friends and get sad for the person who lived below Monica? We were always so scared that we would end up like that rather than sat with our Friends having a good time. In fact, we wouldn't be surprised if the reason that character was in the show is because one of the writers of Friends had that thought themselves! Who knows, but it would make sense seeing as it's quite universal.

Question 11

Which Of Monica's Boyfriends Is Friends With Her Parents?

One of the things we always liked about Friends is the fact that it didn't mind dipping its toe into some topics that a lot of other shows wouldn't have gone anywhere near at the time, and this was one of those topics. Most people would find it weird to go out with friends of their parents, people that have known us as children and watched us grown up, but Friends helped normalize it for those who actually were doing this in real life!

Question 12

What Car Does Monica Get From Her Dad?

One of the changes we would've made to the sitcom is taking a further look at the fact that Ross and Monica come from a richer family than many others, despite the fact that they seem to pretend that they aren't. We always hear about how rich Rachel is, and yet this woman was given a fancy car by her father as a present. We'll be honest, we have a family that could never provide us with a car like this!

Question 13

What Is The Name Of Joey's Agent?

We always think it's odd that so many television shows and movies out there make agents look completely incompetent, despite the fact that these sorts of agents would never be able to get work! Sure, there are some people out there that won't be taken on by the better agents, but we do think that these agents would still have to do a lot better if they wanted to keep any of the actors that supposedly end up using them!

Question 14

Which Friend Enjoyed Playing The Keyboard?

Music plays an interesting part in the world of Friends, as it would seem that nobody is actually able to play any instrument well! We're not saying that everybody should be great at it, but is there really anyone out there that hasn't met somebody who can play a musical instrument well? We're just saying that, through a law of averages, at least one of these people would be good at making music, and at least two of them are very bad at it!

Question 15

What Is Monica's Job Title?

The writers made an attempt, as the series progressed, to put together examples from the characters past and youth that highlighted just why these people ended up in the jobs that they did, which is something we always enjoyed. Not only that, but they had a wide range of jobs and they didn't all manage to make the same money so there was an added tension there, something that affects many people in their real lives but something that a lot of sitcoms wouldn't bother touching.

Question 16

What Type Of Animal Is Marcel?

While a lot of Friends was grounded in reality, representing the sort of thing that so many of us see on a regular basis, that didn't change the fact that it was a comedy show, meaning that the writers were able to get away with some stuff that forced the audience to suspend their disbelief somewhat. For example, the introduction of Marcel isn't something that a lot of us would've ever seen in real life, and yet it fit well in Friends!

Question 17

How Many Siblings Does Chandler Have?

A lot is written about when it comes to Chandler's family life, how his youth changed the way he is as an adult, and we can only imagine that it was actually a good thing for anyone watching who had this problem in real life. While most people would argue that they have had at at least an alright upbringing, there are still a lot that didn't, and it's good that these sorts of people get a character on the TV to relate to.

Question 18

Who Does Ross Marry In Las Vegas?

It's funny to think that in any other show, this would probably be a pretty straightforward question, and yet because of the amount of people that this man ended up marrying, there's a whole list of people that it could've been! We remember watching this show when we were younger and becoming so worried that we would end up like this man, our life dictated by the fact that we seemed incapable to hold onto a relationship for too long...

Question 19

What Is The Name Of Joey's Penguin?

Despite the fact that Joey was clearly stupid, that being his defining character trait, it doesn't change the fact that in a lot of ways he was probably the kindest friend as well, just showing how the naivety meant he was less cynical than the rest of them. This is why it should come as no surprise to anybody that the man spends his nights sleeping with a penguin teddy, that is when he's not spending it with another woman...

Question 20

How Many Friends Have Worked In Central Perk?

Using Central Park as the hub for the characters was probably a very smart choice, as it meant that the audience was able to relate to the people on screen. Very few of us actually get together at people's homes, with that only being an occasional choice when it comes to meeting places. It was also smart to have an episode that showed it was actually a bar before a coffee shop, the sort of place that so many others would've gone when they were slightly younger.

Question 21

Who Dressed Up As The Holiday Armadillo?

When we watch a sitcom, it's usually quite easy to see where the writers came up with their ideas for what to have in the episode that week, what it was that they wanted to get across in the narrative while also working on what jokes they could work into it. That being said, we have absolutely no idea who came up with this one or how it is that they did so! Seriously, where did it come from exactly?!

Question 22

Where Do Ross And Phoebe Get Stuck While Ben Is Being Born?

For those who don't remember, this episode was actually way back at the beginning of the series, and it detailed something that we know is a genuine problem for so many people out there! The concept of missing the birth of a child is enough to leave some people in tears, and we can only assume that this has actually happened to some people in the past who are less than happy to be reminded of one of this thing that actually happened to them...

Question 23

Where Did Chandler Meet Ross?

As we all know, there are so many different ways that people can end up meeting, which is why a group of Friends will have so many different connections, such a broad set of circumstances that could've pulled them all together. We like the fact that this show went to the effort of explaining where all of these people met, how they came to be in each other's lives, not just taking the easy way out and saying they all met at random.

Question 24

What Was The Name Of Monica's Millionaire Boyfriend?

We know that this is probably going to make us sound shallow, but we could never believe that Monica decided to leave this guy. Sure, there was definitely good reason, but we think we would've tried to hold onto a millionaire for as long as physically possible, no matter what it was that they had happened to do wrong. Think about what a great life would be had by marrying somebody who has that sort of money in their pockets.

Question 25

What Was The Giant Poking Device The Friends Made To Check On Their Neighbor?

Of all the supporting characters that were seen throughout Friends, we have to say that our favorite has to be the ugly guy that lived across the way. We were genuinely sad to see him go when Ross ended up moving into his apartment across the way! Sure, he didn't play much of a part when compared to a lot of the other supporting roles, but he was still there, in the background, providing some good humor for us all whenever the Friends saw him through their window.

Question 26

Why Was Ross Suspended From His Job?

We can't speak for anyone else, but we have to admit that Ross ended up being more annoying than funny, and we didn't really enjoy having him on screen as much as he was. We would've preferred if we saw him less, or even had his character completely change throughout the series. We know it's only a comedy, but some of the things that he got away with ended up really getting on our nerves, and he never had to pay for it!

Question 27

What Did Ross Buy On Impulse When He Turned 30?

One of the things that Friends did a lot was play with the thoughts that come with moving on in life, watching our age keep getting bigger as we try and get on with our lives, but not being able to in the same way that we used to. They even dedicate an entire episode to what it feels like for every single one of the Friends characters to turn thirty, and it definitely didn't make us want to turn that age!

Question 28

How Many Seasons Of The Show Were Made?

As we've already said, we think it's generally accepted that like so many other shows we could name, this one went on for just a bit too long. It would seem that people making TV shows just don't know when to end it, always pushing just that bit too far and leaving behind a legacy that is nowhere near as good as it could've been if they'd left it alone just two seasons earlier! With that in mind, how many did this show have?

Question 29

What Was The Name Of The Character Portrayed By Brad Pitt?

This has become somewhat of an infamous episode of Friends, and that's not just because it is genuinely one of the funniest episodes of the entire series. Yes, when this man went onto the set of Friends, he didn't realize he would end up meeting a woman that he would then spend a long time with! Not only that, but the world and media in general didn't know they would have a couple that they'd be talking about for years to come.

Question 30

Where Does Chandler Tell Janice He's Moving To?

Of all the things that Chandler did throughout Friends, we have to say that this is the one that really bothered us. We know that he was a coward and that for some reason people just don't like Janice in general, but lying to someone like this just isn't funny if we're honest. We know, it's just a comedy, but why should that stop us from being bothered by a portrayal of something that we're sure some people would do in real life!

Question 31

Which Friend Is The Youngest?

Can anybody else remember the moment or the age where it became fairly normal to have friends that were a completely different age? When we think about it, this just wasn't something that happened when we were younger, mainly because the friends we made were in school with us, which meant that they had to be at least close to the same age as us! It's only as we moved into adulthood that we started to pick up friends of different ages.

Question 32

What Was The Name Of The Character Portrayed By Bruce Willis?

It was no surprise that this sitcom was able to get the sort of actors it did where others comedies on TV would've struggled, as it had become such a household name, especially by the time this man ended up on it. What a lot of people don't know is that he actually took the wage he was given for his role and gave it to charity because he lost a bet to his temporary co-star David Schwimmer, who plays Ross.

Question 33

Who Does Chandler Live With When Joey Moves Out?

We were pretty amazed at how much the writers were able to get us to emotionally connect with the characters in this sitcom. We're not afraid to say that when Joey decided to move out, the two of them not properly dealing with their emotions, we were worried that they would keep the two of them apart for good! They're easily the best friends, no joke intended, that have been on television before, and we still continue to enjoy them.

Question 34

What Causes Phoebe To Drop The Lottery Tickets Off The Balcony?

As the show got further and further into the later episodes, we think it's generally accepted that it wasn't as good as the earlier ones, but one of the best episodes towards the end was the lottery episode, mainly because it gave us a look at how so many of us would react in that sort of scenario. Not only that, but it gave the audience a look at what it feels like to be scared of pigeons, which is a legitimate worry!

Question 35

Which Part Of New York Is Rachel From?

As much as we've enjoyed Friends in the past, and as much as we understand that all shows don't have to delve into the sort of things we're interested in, we do wish that the writers had spent more time exploring the ways that the different financial and social backgrounds had shaped the way the characters interacted with each other, but this was only something that the writers decided to touch on only slightly at various times throughout the series.
