There are so many different types of romantic movies that exist in the world. Romantic comedies, romance dramas, teen romances, the list goes on. There is even a category of romance films that are inspired by novels. Nicholas Sparks is definitely an author whose work has been adapted into films, including iconic films such as The Notebook, The Best of Me, and A Walk to Remember.
What classifies as a romance movie? Well, the biggest component would, of course, be the love between two characters. In some instances, they might have been previously friends or at least acquaintances and find themselves in love. Other times they're strangers who bump into each other and end up being "soulmates." One of the more common tropes found in romance movies, especially dramas, is that the boy and the girl come from two separate lives, and causes trouble in their relationship. For example, in both The Notebook and The Longest Ride, both of the male characters were raised as countrymen without a lot of money, whereas the female characters grew up having money and luxurious things.
