The truth is, there are hundreds of different TV personalities out there. The greatest part is that there is someone to suit every viewer's taste. Some viewers may prefer the more mature TV Guy, while others may find themselves more interested in someone younger and less experienced. Or, perhaps a brunette over a blonde. Nevertheless, there is always a variety - and variety is the spice of life!
That being said, there are also hundreds of different TV shows to pick from, but we will guess your favourite one! What's great about TV guys is that some actors make it big on TV, or they move on to the big screen. Either way - it can be a success if the fans approve!
There have been some TV guys which just seem to glow as they act - it can be exciting to watch them grow as characters and as individuals. For some, the TV screen seems to be kinder to them than the big film life.
This list of actors has some very famous guys and some not so famous ones too. We have also catered for the more mature audience and even the younger ones too. Let us get this show on the road!
Matt LeBlanc
Matthew Steven LeBlanc is best known for his role as Joey in the TV series 'Friends'. This show ran for about ten years, and it is still extremely popular. Matt is also a comedian and TV host. Matt was born in 1967, so he is already in his early fifties! At least we can all agree that he has indeed aged like a good wine, and not like milk! Would Matt be the TV guy to pick or pass on?
Matthew Perry
Matthew Langford Perry is also very well known for his role as Chandler in 'Friends'. He is also going to be turning fifty in 2019. Matthew is rather tall, 1.83m to be exact. But his acting role hasn't been short lived. He has also been seen in a number of other TV shows, including: Go On, The Good Fight, Playhouse Presents and The Kennedys After Camelot. The last movie he was in was '17 Again' which was back in 2009.
Aaron Paul
Aaron Paul Sturtevant was born in 1979 and is mostly known for his role as Jesse Pinkman in 'Breaking Bad'. This TV series is not for the faint of heart and is a little different to most TV shows. Aaron also started in some films and music videos as well. One of the longest TV shows he starred in was BoJack Horseman. He also got engaged to Lauren Parsekian while in Paris. They have a daughter who is named Story Annabelle.
Bryan Cranston
Bryan Lee Cranston is best known for his role in 'Breaking Bad'. He plays a professor who is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Bryan has also starred in a number of other TV shows, including The Flash, How I Met Your Mother and Sabrina: The Teenage Witch. Bryan is already in his early sixties, although one may not think so. He has also been involved in some charity work as well. He's definitely an all-rounder in terms of helping the people.
Jim Parsons
Jim Parsons is best known for his role as Sheldon in 'The Big Bang Theory'. He plays a physicist with social apathy. Often Sheldon will say something uncalled for without even realizing it - some may say he is just too honest! Along with his friends, Sheldon is a great fan of comic books and action heroes too. Jim also starred in another TV show called 'Judging Amy', but this was short lived. Most of the other shows have been voice-overs.
Johnny Galecki
Johnny Galecki was born in April 1975. This makes him 43 years old. Johnny is most famous for his role as Leonard Hofstadter in 'The Big Bang Theory'. He is the lucky guy who falls head over heels for Penny - the woman next door. Johnny also starred in two music videos. Some of the other shows he acted in include: Family Guy, Entourage, Lip Sync Battle and The Conners. That being said, there is no denying that his best role was Leonard.
Ty Burrell
Ty is an actor and comedian. He spent some time on Broadway but he is certainly more famously known as Phil Dunphy from 'Modern Family'. Ty and his wife, Molly, have two adopted daughters. He also appeared in 'Family Guy' and a number of 'Law & Order' episodes. It is not surprising that he has also won a number of awards, the first was in 2010 and the most recent one was in 2014. All the awards after that were only nominations.
Jesse Williams
Jesse Williams is really easy on the eyes - we just can't deny it! Besides being an amazing plastic surgeon (aka Dr Jackson Avery) in Grey's Anatomy, Jesse is actually a qualified teacher. It is not surprising that Jesse has also been in a number of different music videos. He can be seen in a music video by Rihanna and Demi Lovato. He has been seen in only a handful of TV shows, but he has also been in a few movies.
Eric Dane
Eric Dane has also been seen in a number of different movies and TV shows. However, he is more famously known for his role as Dr Mark 'McSteamy' Sloan from the medical drama, Grey's Anatomy. Eric plays the role of one of the best plastic surgeons ever seen. He falls in love with a number of different ladies - including his best friend's wife. Eric also starred in 'The Last Ship' where he played the role of Captain Tom Chandler.
Patrick Dempsey
Ah! Patrick Dempsey! Those eyes... That hair... Who could pass on this TV guy? Most people fell for him when he was introduced to us as Derek 'McDreamy' Shepherd in Grey's Anatomy. Patrick is now in his mid-fifties, has three children, and is still acting. He is also part of the Dempsey Racing team and has participated in a number of Le Mans races, including some 24 hours of Le Mans. According to Wikipedia, Patrick has won at least 5 acting awards for Grey's Anatomy.
Martin Henderson
Martin Henderson has been acting since 1989. He has been on the big screen and in a number of TV shows. He was born in New Zealand. It seems as though he enjoys playing the role of 'doctor', since he has played Dr Nathan Riggs from 'Grey's Anatomy' and Dr Benjamin Keeton from 'Off The Map'. Britney Spears' fans may even recognize him from the music video 'Toxic' where he played her boyfriend. He also played a role in the movie' The Ring'.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan
This actor has been in a number of award-winning TV shows. These include 'Supernatural', 'Grey's Anatomy', 'Watchmen' and 'The Good Wife'. When Jeffrey starred in 'Grey's Anatomy', he played the role of Denny. This was a patient who needed a heart transplant. He passed away but left Izzie Stevens a large sum of money. Jeffrey also acted in a number of different movies. One of these was the famous 'P.S I Love You'. Jeffrey also owns a candy store - yummy!
David Schwimmer
David Schwimmer acted in a number of different TV shows. These date as far back as 1982. He acted in 'L.A. Law', 'NYPD Blue', 'Friends' and many more. In 2018 he played Noah from 'Will & Grace'. Believe it or not, David Schwimmer also directed and produced a number of shows. Ten of the 'Friends' episodes were directed by him. The last TV movie he directed was in 2014. David also won a few awards for his role in 'Friends'.
Jeremy White
This young man is best known for his role as Phillip "Lip" Gallagher in the TV Series 'Shameless'. Jeremy is also one of the younger TV guys that we have listed in this quiz. He was only born in 1991 - which possibly makes him a millennial! Jeremy is also fairly new to fatherhood. His daughter was born in October 2018. This young actor also appeared in Law & Order when he first started acting. Of course, he is dating a fellow actress!
Justin Chatwin
Justin started as an actor when he was about 18 years old. He could be seen on both the big screen and on the TV screen. Justin is best known for his role as Jimmy Lishman / Steve Wilton where he was involved in a relationship with Fiona Gallagher. This actor was also in various other shows, including Orphan Black, Another Life, Doctor Who, and The Doomsday Project. Believe it or not, Justin entered the acting world as a dare. Fans are glad he accepted it!
William H. Macy
William H. Macy started his acting back in the 70's, and ironically is almost 70 years old! Of course, he has been seen in various films and TV shows. And since he has been acting for so long, one can only expect that he'd have won a number of awards. The truth is, he has indeed won a few - over 20! He most recently won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Frank Gallagher in 'Shameless'.
Steve Howey
Steve Howey is also a popular actor from 'Shameless'. He stars as Kevin, who is married to Veronica. IN real life, Steve is off the market as he seems happily married to his wife, Sarah Shahi. They also have three children together. Of course, It seems that twins are wherever he is since he has them in real life and in the TV series. Steve Howey hasn't actually been in that many roles. Probably because he only started acting in 1994.
Sean Bean
Sean Bean is pretty famous - for his acting and the memes he has been used in. Sean has also won a number of awards for his acting. Most of these are for his roles in Game Of Thrones, The Lord Of The Rings and Broken. At 60 years old, Sean Bean has already been married five times... From these marriages, he has fathered three children. In 2020 we can look forward to his new role in the film 'Possessor'.
Joe Dempsie
Joe is a rather young actor - he is only 31 years old! His full name is actually Joseph Maxwell Dempsie. Although he has starred in films and TV shows, it would also appear that he has the perfect face for radio and voice overs. He has done a number of radio gigs and he is also the voice behind the Clearasil adverts. Like Sean Bean, Joe has also starred in 'Game Of Thrones'. He also acted in 'The Fades' as John.
Andrew Lincoln
Andrew Lincoln is a 45-year-old man that has been in the acting world for quite some time. He is also married and has two children. His children are Matilda and Arthur. It has been almost 10 years since Andrew was last seen on the big screen. Instead, he has been working on his TV roles. He is best known for his role as Rick Grimes in 'TWD'. He has also been nominated for a number of awards for this role, and he has won at least five of these awards.
Jon Bernthal
This 42-year-old actor has only been playing this game since 2002. He is married and has three children as well. He has appeared in theatre and video games as well. Most of his fame comes from his filming success. That being said, he has also blossomed in his TV roles. These include his roles in The Punisher, Daredevil, TWD, The Class and How I Met Your Mother. He is currently in the process of filming The Many Saints of Newark.
Jensen Ackles
This supernatural male actor is already over 40! Jensen Ackles is not only an actor, but he is also a director. He is best known for his role as Dean Winchester in Supernatural. He also starred in Dark Angel in 2001 - 2002. One may also recognize Jensen from his role as Eric Brady in Days Of Our Lives, this goes all the way back to 1997! Jensen also produced a short film, The Plight of Clownana back in 2004.
Jared Padalecki
Jared Tristan Padalecki was born in 1982. He is best known for his role as Sam Winchester in the TV series Supernatural. He is the brother of Dean. Jared was also pretty well known as Dean Forester in the TV series Gilmore Girls. He has won four awards for his acting - all for his role in Supernatural. Jared is married to an actress named Genevieve Cortese and they have three children together. Genevieve also acted in Supernatural, as Ruby.
Ashton Kutcher
Ashton Kutcher really is the funny guy. He often plays in films and TV shows which are romantic comedies. This is obvious with the TV show Punk'd. Ashton is not only an excellent actor, but he also did some modeling. He played the role of Michael Kelso in That 70's Show. He also starred in Two and a Half Men (after Charlie left) and he currently acts in The Ranch. Ashton is also a married man - he married Mila Kunis.
Charlie Hunnam
Charles Matthew Hunnam is best known for his role as Jackson "Jax" Teller from the TV show, Sons of Anarchy. Of the four awards he was nominated for, he won three of them. He was nominated for a number of awards for Sons of Anarchy, but never actually won any of them. Although Charlie got hitched in Las Vegas, this marriage ended shortly after. It appears as though he is not on the dating scene since he has been going steady with someone since 2005.
Justin Chambers
Justin Chambers is best known for his role as Alex Karev in Grey's Anatomy. He is one of the few original characters to still be seen in the show. Justin got married to Keisha in 1993 and they have 5 children together. We know that most stars like to keep fit and healthy, and Justin is no exception. He does yoga to keep his mind and body up to scratch. Maybe this is the secret to him winning 4 awards already?
T. R. Knight
T. R. Knight is best known for his role as Dr George O'Malley from Grey's Anatomy. Sadly, George was soon written out of the series. This actor has also spent many hours on Broadway, in theatre productions. He has done well in this since he started acting at the age of 5. T. R. Knight has no children, but he is married to Patrick B. Leahy. They got married in 2013. Patrick is a ballet dancer and writer. The couple is still happily married.
Chris O'Donnell
Chris O'Donnell has also starred in various TV shows. These range from medical (Grey's Anatomy) to drama (NCIS). When he starred in Grey's Anatomy he acted as a veterinarian who was also in love with Meredith Grey. Obviously, Derek won that one! Chris also starred as G. Callen in NCIS: Los Angeles. This series has been running for 10 years and seems to be going strong! He married Caroline Fentress back in 1997 and they also have five children together.
Taye Diggs
Taye's full name is actually Scott Leo "Taye" Diggs. He was born in 1971. He was married, but got divorced in 2014. Perhaps that means that he is back on the market... He does however have one child. Taye also acted in Dr. Sam Bennett in Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy. Taye also starred in Ally McBeal, The Good Wife, Will & Grace and NCIS. Like many of the other actors we have listed here, Taye has also won a few awards for his acting.
Stephen Amell
The combination of being both a wrestler and an actor is a combination we don't often find. Stephen starred as Oliver Queen / Green Arrow on the TV series Arrow. Stephen also spent some time acting in Private Practice, NCIS, CSI, The Vampire Diaries and DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Stephen also appeared in a few video games. This actor has also won a number of awards for his acting in films and TV shows. In 2017 he was nominated for the People's Choice Awards as Favorite Social Media Celebrity.
Grant Gustin
This option is for the younger fans. Grant Gustin is still in his 20's for now, but he is off the market! That's right, Grant tied the knot in 2018. Grant is best known for his role as Sebastian Smythe in Glee, and as Barry Allen in The Flash. This young actor has also won a number of awards - which is impressive at his age. The 2019 Kids' Choice Award is still pending. Grant is also an amazing singer.
Freddie Highmore
Freddie is actually named Alfred Thomas Highmore. He recently celebrated his 27th birthday on Valentine's day. This actor is well known for his role as Norman Bates in Bates Motel. In 2017 he started acting as Dr. Shaun Murphy in The Good Doctor. Freddie also played Charlie Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, in 2005. He has also starred in a music video and video games. Many of these video games were follow-ons from the TV shows and films he starred in.
Ron Perlman
Ron Perlman also starred next to Charlie in Sons of Anarchy. Ron is just as old as William H. Macy. He got married back in 1981 and has two children. He has done some voiceovers and narrated some shows too. He has starred in a number of video games and even did a few stage performances back in the day. He is currently acting in StartUp as Wes Chandler. He even played the voice of Optimus Primal in Transformers: Power of the Primes.
Charlie Sheen
Charlie Sheen is well known for a number of various endeavors. One may easily recognize him from his role as Charlie (himself) in the TV show Two and a Half Men. He has also been married (and divorced) three times, and has five children too! He also acted in: Anger Management, Spin City and CSI. His role as an actor has been filled with many highs and lows. He certainly hasn't made it easy on himself, his employers and fans.
Jon Cryer
Jon Cryer is the other brother, Alan, from Two and a Half Men. He is portrayed as completely the opposite of Charlie. Jon has been married twice. He also has two children. Jon was born into a lifestyle of acting. This is where his folks had their niche. Jon also starred in a number of other TV shows, such as Hannah Montana, NCIS, Will & Grace, Justice League Action, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Supergirl. The most recent being Supergirl.
Angus T. Jones
This is the little guy from Two and a Half Men, Jake Harper. That being said, Angus is not so little anymore. For such a young actor, he sure did make his mark quickly. At 25, he'd already won four awards for his acting. He left Two and a Half Men and moved on to go study at university. He also appeared on CSI and Hannah Montana. In 2003 Angus also appeared in the family film, George of the Jungle 2.
Will Smith
Will Smith is a very famous guy. He is known for singing, acting in movies, TV shows and so much more. One of his first TV shows was The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. And any fan would already be singing the theme song by now... Will Smith has also won a number of awards - at least 50! That includes awards for his acting and his music. He really is an all-rounder. His kids also seem to be following in his footsteps.
Josh Radnor
Josh Radnor is an actor, filmmaker and musician but he is best known for his role as Ted Mosby in How I Met Your Mother. He directed a music video and has also appeared on stage. He also spent some time on Grey's Anatomy and Family Guy. Josh is going to be portraying Lonny Flash in a 2019 TV show called The Hunt. The only acting award he won was for the role he played in Happythankyoumoreplease. This was in 2010.
Wayne Brady
Wayne Brady is a Jack of all trades. He is an actor, television personality, singer, game show host, producer, comedian and presenter. One of the most famous shows that he played in was Whose Line Is It Anyway?. He also played in How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock, The Loud House and The Bold & The Beautiful. He also won awards for his own TV show, The Wayne Brady Show. Believe it or not, he has also won awards for his singing.
Eric McCormack
Eric played the role of Will Truman in Will & Grace. This was first aired in the late 90's but has recently come back into production. Eric starred in The New Adventures of Old Christine, Perception, The Mysteries of Laura and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Eric was nominated for a number of acting awards as well. Some of these he won, but most of them were for his role as Will Truman. Let's hope the new productions carry the same success.
Trevor Noah
Trevor Noah is a born and raised South African actor, comedian, producer, writer and talk show host. He recently moved overseas and often hosts stand up comedy shows. Some of his best work includes his role as the host of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Tonight with Trevor Noah and The Opposition with Jordan Klepper for "Danica Roem". Trevor often uses his past as material for most of his shows, and it certainly seems to be adding to his success.
Martin Lawrence
Martin Fitzgerald Lawrence is a stand-up comedian, actor, producer, talk show host, and writer. He has three children and has been married twice. He starred in a few TV shows, such as The Soul Man, Def Comedy Jam, Hammer, Slammer, & Slade and Partners. Some of his stand up gigs include Martin Lawrence: Doin' Time, Martin Lawrence Live: Runteldat and You So Crazy. It is no doubt that his film success has been deemed much greater than his TV success.
Tim Allen
Tim Allen played Tim Taylor in the show Home Improvement, back in the 90's. He also plays as Mike Baxter in the TV show Last Man Standing. Another exciting role that Tim Allen had was the voice of Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story. This also includes the video games he did as Buzz Lightyear. Tim also won a number of acting awards (People's Choice Awards) for his role in Home Improvement. He also started in a Netflix show, El Camino Christmas.
Kunal Nayyar
Kunal Nayyar is an actor who is best known as Rajesh Ramayan Koothrappali in the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory. In this role Rajesh can't seem to speak to women, even though he is a super smart scientist. Rajesh is one of four other scientists that have very similar interests - except for when it comes to ladies. Kunal also briefly appeared on NCIS and The Late Late Show. Although he only started acting in 2004 he seems to be excelling in this world!
Kevin McKidd
Kevin McKidd is best known for his role as Owen Hunt in Grey's Anatomy. He also starred in Star Wars Rebels, North Square, and Rome. He has also been fortunate enough to direct some of the episodes of Grey's Anatomy. Kevin has three children and is currently married to Arielle Goldrath. He was previously married to Jane Parker. Two of his children are from his first marriage. Kevin has even done a few voice-overs for a number of video games.
David Hasselhoff
Who doesn't remember this guy? David Hasselhoff acted in a number of different shows. One of these was the popular Baywatch. A series where there was way too much skin on display and not enough life saving going on... He also acted in The Young and the Restless, Knight Rider and The Grand Tour. Like many other TV celebs, he also did some work for video games. Although he hasn't been seen around much lately, he has certainly not been forgotten.
LL Cool J
LL Cool J's real name is actually James Todd Smith. Of course, everyone wants to know what his nickname really stands for. Here it is Ladies Love Cool James. He is a rapper, musician, record producer, actor, author, and entrepreneur. He has starred in tons of different TV shows, including Hawaii Five-0, NCIS and House. He has also won a number of awards for both acting and singing. Although LL Cool J is already in his fifties, he is still fresh!
Mark Harmon
Believe it or not, Mark Harmon is just as old as William H. Macy and Ron Perlman - that is almost 70 years old! He has two children and has been married to Pam Dawber since 1987. Mark starred in The West Wing, JAG, NCI and Family Guy. Although he has been acting for a while and has been nominated for a number of awards, he only actually won two of those. Perhaps he will ripen like good wine in his old age!
Ice Cube
O'Shea Jackson Sr. is also known as Ice Cube. He is an actor, rapper and writer. He acted and produced the TV show Are We There Yet?. He also starred in The Bernie Mac Show in 2002. The video games he featured in include Doom 3 BFG Edition and Call of Duty: Black Ops. One of the first films he acted in was Boyz n the Hood, in 1991. And he most recently acted in Last Friday. The release date is still to be confirmed.
Eddie Murphy
Edward Murphy is one of the funniest men the world has ever seen. He has been involved in a number of different ventures. From stand up comedy to TV shows, film and even singing. Eddie has also been married more than once. In addition to that, he has ten children - and that is no joke! Eddie also appeared on the TV show 'Saturday Night Live'. He spent nearly four years as a regular on the show. He is also nearly 60 years old!
