The Twilight series began in 2005 when the author of the best selling books had a dream about a vampire who falls in love with a human. These books were developed into hit movies, that took the box office by storm, each doing better than the last. The movies were extremely close to the books, making it a great series for people who love both. The movies began to premiere in 2008, with the final one premiering in 2012 as the ending of a two-part film.
The series follows Bella Swan, and Edward Cullen, along with their families, friends, and many challenges that everyone must face along the way. The movies starred Kristen Stewart as Bella and Robert Pattinson as Edward, while also featuring Taylor Lautner as Jacob.
From the very first moment that people saw or read Twilight, they were hooked. Now a cult classic, it set the stage for the combination of romance and action, involving vampires and other mythical creatures that previously had mostly been primarily involved in action films. After Twilight, there have been countless renditions of television shows and movies that feature vampires.

At the start of the film, we meet Bella Swan. She is picking up her life and moving to a new state with a family member she hasn't been too in touch with for many years, basically since she was a little girl. She is transferring to a new school, forced to make new friends, basically uproot her entire life. She is not completely dreading it though, as she is getting the chance to get to know this family member as a near-adult.

Before Bella moved to a new town at the very beginning of Twilight, she lived with this parent. She is extremely close to them, and pretty upset that she is moving somewhere that she hasn't been to since she was a child. This parent has been there for her since she was younger and her parents had divorced. When Edward was turned into a vampire, his legal age and physical age stayed the same from that moment for the rest of time. Even though his age is frozen, he has kept track of his age since the year that he was born. This is something that he has to cope with, not aging with his friends and family the same way. He has to watch each and every one of them pass away from old age. Something that would never happen to him.

After James tricked Bella into coming to a location where she thought her mother was being held captive, he had her exactly where he wanted. He wanted something from her, but she definitely did not go down easy; she put up a fight. This fight escalated greatly when Edward finds her and does everything he can to put a stop to James and continue to protect Bella. The Twilight series is a long set of stories in which we see a lot of growth in the characters. Throughout the movies, we see a ton of different couples last through the toughest moments, and even new romances begin along the way. Some of the couples stand out a little more than the others, because of their connection and passion to make sure the relationship works. This person adopted Edward into their family, showing him the ways that they live, which was a big adjustment but Edward fell right into place.
Why does Bella want to be a vampire?
Throughout the entire series Bella wants to be turned into a vampire. Right when she finds out that Edward is a vampire, she is fascinated by them and learns all about them from ancient folk tales. Edward has refused to turn her into a vampire, because he believes that it is a curse to live forever and ever but have to watch the people close to pass away.
