Is There A Vampire Diaries Fan Out There Who Can Name All Of These Characters?

The Vampire Diaries was one of the most popular supernatural TV shows out there. It was so well liked that two spin-off shows have since been created - The Originals and Legacies. But let's focus solely on The Vampire Diaries. Season One of this amazing series was released exactly a decade ago, all the way back in 2009. Season Eight came out two years ago, in 2017.

As most fans are probably well aware, the plot of this TV series focuses on a human girl who lives in the town of Mystic Falls. She leads a fairly average life until the appearance of a mysterious young man who turns out to be a centuries-old vampire. Before long the girl has fallen head over heels in love with the mysterious immortal who is not indifferent to her either. However, the fact that he is a vampire complicates their relationship, as does the appearance of his older brother.

While the human girl and the two vampires are the protagonists of the show, other characters are also introduced to us and their story arcs explored. Who thinks that they can name all the characters featured on the show? We think it's an impossible feat... Or is it?

Question 1

Who is the female protagonist?

If you're a fan of The Vampire Diaries then you should know that the girl in the image above is the show's female protagonist. We first met her in episode one of season one of the show. Back then she had just lost her parents (or rather, her adoptive parents) in a car crash and as such was inconsolable. Initially, we all thought that this character was a regular human girl but with time we learned that she was actually a Petrova doppelganger. Later in the show she was turned into a vampire but never wanted to be an immortal and as such ended up taking the cure to vampirism.

Question 2

Who is this vampire?

One of the two male protagonists of the show, this character was an ancient vampire. To be even more exact, he was 178 years old. A woman that he loved turned him into an immortal back in the early 19th century. Naturally, he hoped to spend his whole life with the love of his life but unfortunately, it turned out that she preferred his younger brother (whom she also turned into a vampire). As was to be expected, this put a strain on their relationship. Initially this character was cold, manipulative and calculating but over time we go to see his softer side too.

Question 3

Who is this?

This character was a vampire and the younger brother of the immortal mentioned above. He too was turned into a vampire by the woman that he loved but unlike his brother, he was quick to realize that she did not deserve his love. It was none other than this character who saved the protagonist of the show when her parents got into a car accident. However, he did not have enough time to save her parents too. This character was the polar opposite of his brother - he was moral, kind and gentle. Plus, he refused to feast on humans and instead hunted animals.

Question 4

Who knows the name of this centuries-old vampire?

If you've been watching the show from the very beginning, then you should have absolutely no trouble getting this one right. As most fans of the show are probably well aware, here we have yet another vampire. We first met her in season one of The Vampire Diaries. She came to Mystic Falls in the hopes of freeing her mother from an ancient tomb that housed countless old vampires. She watched desperately as one of the two male protagonists missed every opportunity in opening the tomb. Eventually, she was reunited with her mother but her happiness was short-lived for they were both staked.

Question 5

Who is this vampire hunter?

Another character whom we met all the way back in season one of the series, this man was a human. However, he was no ordinary human. Rather, he was a vampire hunter. He came to Mystic Falls to avenge his wife. He believed that her life had been taken by one of the two male protagonists of the show. As such, he tracked him down and prepared to stake him. No one knew what he was up to for a long time. We all thought that this character was a regular teacher (he taught history at Mystic Falls High School).

She adapted to her new lifestyle extremely well. Obviously, being a vampire suited her.

Question 7

Who is this powerful witch?

A major character on the show, this woman was a skilled witch. As is the case with most major characters, we first met her in season one of the series. Question 9

Who is this manipulative vampire?

This character looks eerily similar to the show's female protagonist. But don't be fooled - it's not actually her. This character is a centuries-old vampire. This character was mean and manipulative and was prepared to do anything to get her way in life, even if it meant betraying her friends and eliminating her loved ones. Everyone should know the name of this character. After all, he appeared in as many as 59 episodes.
